What is Pilates?
Pilates is a method of exercise that consists of low-impact flexibility, muscular strength and endurance movements; it is named for its creator, Joseph Pilates, who originally called it 'Contrology'.
Who should do Pilates?
Anyone! Pilates may sound intimidating, but it is an accessible way strengthen your core and improve posture, balance and flexibility. Pilates can provide a gentle strength training and stability program, or give a seasoned athlete a challenging workout.
Are there different kinds of Pilates?
Yes. Through the years Pilates has gradually evolved and integrated modern pieces of equipment and thinking.
What kind of Pilates do you practice?
At Method Pilates we practice Romana’s Pilates. It is the exercises and philosophies of Joseph and Clara Pilates as handed down to protégé Romana and now, her daughter Sari. For more info, click HERE.
